The MSC student radio station, WIXQ-FM, will resume its full broadcast format for the fall semester after following an abbreviated summer schedule. Located at 91.7 on the FM band, the 100-watt station plans to broadcast approximately 16 hours daily. Messages in the community interest are invited from borough organizations for airing on WIXQ and can be sent to WIXQ-FM in the Student Memorial Center, Millersville State College. One of the shows returning this year is the popular Doc & Mama Roc Golden Oldies Show on Saturdays, 4-7 p.m., performed by Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Anttonen. Also returning this fall is the Kevin Ross Radio Show, which is an interview series conducted by the station manager with local and college people in the public eye. According to Ross, the key to the WIXQ format is the diversity of its musical programming, ranging from rock & roll to religious music. WIXQ expects to add more non-musical spots to its format this year, he said, including expanded news and college sports coverage. |
